In this case, reinstalling the OS and not updating to the last Windows 1903 update is the fix. If this has already been over 10 days since installing this update, since this apparently a major update, you will no longer be able to downgrade your Windows update. For instructions on how to remove a Windows update, see: The workaround for now is to try downgrading your OS to Windows 1809 or lower. We are currently working with Windows on getting this resolved. If you had your Windows update utility set to 'Automatically update' then this OS update would have just installed itself without any prompts to you to approve it's installation. This update is causing the sample rate problems with the Apollo Silver units that you are experiencing, where the sample rates will change randomly. "This problem is occurring due to a recent major Windows update that was released over the last few weeks. It irritates me that UAD didnt post a sticky about this issue here on the forums because it would've saved me hours of rabbit hole adventures.Īnyway, Im posting tech supports info here in case anyone else is having this problem: What irritates me in hindsight is that I tried not to go through tech support, thinking Id do the problem solving myself because my issue was bound to be solved by the finicky things associated with Apollo firewire - having the unit turned on before booting pc, reverting to old legacy firewire generic driver in the device manager and not using the standard texas instruments one (I have the SIIG pcie firewire as recommended by UAD, but still many holes in the Apollo drivers) etc etc the list is long.

Not to bore you all with the details but when I installed my new system I did every single suggestion from forum and UAD troubleshooting guides to no avail.

They are working on a fix and it only affects Silver firewire models, but Im essentially unable to use my audio interface for DAW or standalone instruments that require audio interface driver. Just a heads up that I spoke to tech support re my Apollo Silver Firewire not working on a new pc and the issue apparently is well known now to be the latest Windows update.
